Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government has asked the Centre of Rs 1,00,213 crore to build new capital city, along with basic infrastructure and services.
Apart from the Centre, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has also sent the report to the Central Planning Commission and the 14th Finance Commission. The report said that at least Rs 4 lakh crore would be needed to create the infrastructure for the new capital along with appropriate links elsewhere in the state.
"Our main concern now is to immediately develop our capital city, so we can ensure a smooth transfer of administrative and legislative functions of Hyderabad to the new location as quickly as possible," said the report.
He noted that he had emphasized the last 60 years in the development of Hyderabad and surrounding area, at the expense of all potential areas for development in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.
