Hyderabad: In a significant development, state of Telangana Congress on Monday joined the agitating students of Osmania University 'demanding the creation of public employment. Require TRS government resolve issues relating to students unemployed, the Telangana Congress leaders announced their full support to the agitation launched by the Telangana JAC Unemployed Students in Osmania University.
Addressing the dharna launched by the JAC in OU Campus here, Congress deputy leader in the Legislative Council, Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir K. Chandrasekhar Rao accused of ignoring the welfare of the student community that played the main role in the formation of the state of Telangana. He said several students sacrificed their careers for the sake of statehood agitation.
However, Mr. Rao has completely neglected students, Mr. Shabbir Ali claimed. He supported the demand of the JAC for the formation of Telangana Public Service Commission, the issuance of notices of cancellation of work and contract jobs, as promised by TRS during elections.
He said the Congress President Sonia Gandhi had accepted statehood, mainly due to the student unrest. He also announced that Congress will meet with the Governor and represent the concerns of the students in the creation of jobs
