Actor Suriya has been a vocal supporter of organ donation. In fact, in the end credits of the film Oru Naal Chennayil where organ donation was one of the central themes, the actor appeared on the screen to stress the importance of the cause. Meanwhile, the actor, while the reflagging of a marathon in Chennai to promote organ donation, made a gallant gesture by pledging to donate all his organs to the foundation that organized the marathon. The actor, who addressed the corridors, amid much cheering, said: "I have committed my organs, do you love your liver and live your life?." In recent times, many celebrities have been actively promoting organ donation, including stars like Nagarjuna, Amala Akkineni, SS Rajamouli, Navdeep and several others.
