As a tribute to the legendary actor, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, the Government might consider constructing Akkineni Ghat at Necklace Road in Hyderabad. Talking to journalists, Minister Geetha Reddy said that she would speak to chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and ask him to give authority for the creation of Akkineni Ghat at Necklace Road.

On the other side, Information and Broadcasting minister DK Aruna on Wednesday announced that the last rites of actor Akkineni Nageshwara Rao will be the responsibility of the government. Meanwhile, ANR's last rites will be performed on Thursday in Erragadda burial ground. Senior actor Murali Mohan said that film shootings, and theaters will be closed on Thursday as a mark of respect.
