There is a talk that Sharmila sister of YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy has on offer to join from congress party. A rumor is spread that congress has approached Sharmila through middlemen to join Congress, and if she joinmed Congress then she would be given the Kadapa Parliament seat.

When Jagan was in jail Sharmila did the campaigning in the re-elections. She also participated in the Paadayathra from Idupula Palem to Srikakulam. But once Jagan was released from jail she has kept away from politics.

There were rumors that SHarmila and Jagan had arguments regarding the kadapa Lok Sabha seat. On hearing this Congress tried to take advantage of the situation by offering her the Kadapa Lok sabha seat.
