Showing his generosity, Telangana Government has sanctioned a monthly pension of Rs. 10,000 to the widow of popular actor Nata Prapurna TL Kanta Rao.

Kanta Rao, who was born in Kodada in Nalgonda district, acted in over 400 films in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi. It was co-actor regularly to the legendary heroes NT Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao in most of his films.

Kanta Rao died on March 22, 2009 leaving his widow financial difficulties. Recognizing this, the Government of Telangana has sanctioned their monthly pension.
