Guntur: Farmers Rayapudi and adjacent villages held a meeting on Wednesday night. Refusing to give their fertile land for the new capital, decided to convene the Cabinet subcommittee on the sharing of the earth.
Meeting of farmers appointed a committee of three men to meet the cabinet subcommittee and explain their difficulties in the delivery of land for construction of capital.
Farmers Leader M. Harindranath Chowdary said neither the government nor the district administration invited them to meet the CM to explain their difficulties. He claimed that the TD leaders are sending pro-TD farmers to meet the CM.
Meanwhile, farmers who are unwilling to give their land, received phone calls from the office of the CM on Wednesday. According to reports, the dissident peasants Nidamarru, Mandadam, Uddandarayunipalem, Venkatapalem and other people got calls asking them to come to Hyderabad to join a meeting with the CM on Friday.
Earlier, the meeting was scheduled to be held on Thursday. K.Venkateswarlu of Mandadam said he received no call from the district administration or Hyderabad.
He said there is no use sending the TD supporters to meet the CM.
