Panaji: Laxmikant Parsekar has been named as the next chief minister of Goa, said top BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Parsekar will be sworn in at Raj Bhawan at 4 pm Saturday. RSS Parsekar has strong links and currently holds the portfolio of Minister of Health of the State. Parsekar, elated, said, "I am very happy to be chosen as the CM."
Rudy said he always draws consultations with all MLAs of the state BJP threw a unanimous decision, so Parsekar name was forwarded by CM Manohar Parrikar former and seconded by Deputy CM Francisco D'Souza.
Parsekar twice held the office of head of state BJP in Goa.
Manohar Parrikar resigned before his office to be included in the cabinet of Narendra Modi.
