Vijayawada: Minister of Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitaraman adopted two villages in the district of West Godavari in "Sansad Adarsha Grama Yojana" proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Disclosing this to the media here on Friday, Nirmala Sitaraman said it had identified Pedamainivani Lanka (popular as PM Lanka) and Thurpu Narsapur Assembly constituency Tallu in adoption. She said she was going to spend three days with people, elected representatives and officials from the two villages of November 15 and the plan for the integral development of peoples and individuals.
She said the Prime Minister had asked MPs to adopt a village for a year and develop in all aspects. She said she had taken these two villages in the first year and continue to adopt two villages each year during his tenure as deputy for the state. The Minister thanked the Narsapur MP Gokaraju Gangaraju Union for supporting your team in the two villages.
He also thanked the two peoples sarpanches T Nagalakshmi PM Lanka and S Subbalakshmi of Thurpu Tallu to accept your offer.
Panchayat Secretary of the two villages B Desiraju, BJP leaders Suresh Reddy, Shyam Kishore J, T Srinivasa Raju and others were present at the press conference.
