The body of a missing gastroenterologist Tenali, Kosaraju Jayachandran, was found in the western Duggirala Krishna Delta (KWD) main channel on the morning of Tuesday, a day after his car was drawn.
Dr. Jayachandran, who works as a gastroenterologist in Gandhi hospital in Secunderabad, was supposed to get home on October 18 he called his wife, Gowthami, at about 11 pm and told her he was coming home . The couple has a one-year-old, whose birthday was October 25, but the doctor did not show up at night and since then, the mystery has only deepened. A real estate agent based in Vijayawada, Vamsi, accompanied the doctor to Vijayawada.
Vitaleswar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tenali, said a case under Section 174 Cr.PC was booked. More research was conducted to investigate whether the death was caused by an accident. Police found a large rock near the car which gives credence to the possibility that the car hitting it and falling into the canal.
It has also emerged that Dr Jayachandran had suffered from pains of depression in the past and has been down since the death of his grandfather. His friend, Vamsi, who had been with him to Vijayawada, told police that the doctor seemed a little depressed. Further police investigation also probing a possible suicide angle to the case.
