Hyderabad: In a setback to the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the Centre on Saturday sought more time to complete the distribution of all India Service (AIS) officers without specifying any time frame.
However, the minister of state for personnel Jitendra Singh Union later clarified that they are trying to complete the assignment within 15 days of the serious concerns raised by governments.
Officials said the assignment list issued on October 10 is final and more than 95 percent officials get final allocation based on the orders and in this regard will be issued shortly.
The Centre has agreed to consider the objections raised by the remaining five percent official health reasons and spouse and their allocation will be changed accordingly.
Mr. Jitendra Singh said that the allocation process was delayed because they want all the officers who remain satisfied with their assignment to either TS or AP and transparent procedures were followed to achieve this goal.
He said there was no delay in assignments as predicted from the Centro is mandated to complete the process before the deadline of June 2, 2015. "We will complete the process well before the deadline.
We're way ahead of the deadline, completing provisional award. This we intend to complete the final award within 15 days, "he added.
