Chandigarh: It's a great day for Sunday as Karnal Haryana MLA Manohar Lal Khattar's Bharatiya Janata Party will take oath as Chief Minister of the state. The inauguration ceremony will take place at Panchkula in Huda Sector 5. floor in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Ministers of all the states ruled by the BJP and other senior party leaders will attend the ceremony.
This is after 15 years that the state has a non-Jat chief minister after Jat Chief Ministers of three consecutive terms.
Khattar was a RSS worker from 1980 to 1994 and then joined the BJP. Sources say that he is a close aide of Narendra Modi PM. He rode on Modi wave Khattar, a title above the age of 60, he was sure to win the Karnal seat and made by a wide margin.
"The Prime Minister Amit Shah BJP chief, some ministers of the Government of the Union, the CM of BJP ruled states and senior leaders and others attend the function," said BJP spokesman Vir Kumar Yadav Haryana the Sabbath.
The head of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal minister also attend the oath taking ceremony of Khattar Panchkula in Haryana.
Among other leaders, outgoing Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has also been invited.
Elaborate arrangements have been made for the function today, besides the presence of the principal dignitaries will see huge torrent of BJP workers.
Shakuntala Jakhu Haryana Chief Secretary and Director General of Police SN Vashisht, Panchkula Deputy Commissioner SS Phulia held a meeting to review the arrangements for the function.
Strict security measures have been put in place, with more than 3,000 police deployed. Haryana BJP leaders claim that it is expected that about 1 lakh people to attend the function. The roads leading to the plant Huda is giving a facelift.
