Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Power companies are fully geared to face any eventuality arising from Cyclone Hudhud ', which is on track to reach the Visakhapatnam coast on Sunday afternoon. 

Ajay Jain, Secretary of Energy, along with other senior officials of his department reviewed the measures taken by the utilities with respect to works of food and catering, an official statement said on Saturday. 

Cyclone is expected to be accompanied by high velocity winds and heavy rain. "Given the cautions received from Southern Regional Load Dispatch Center (SRLDC), Bangalore, utilities are on alert. 

They are ready for the emergency works in relation to the works and power supply options, especially in the districts of Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West, under the jurisdiction of Eastern Power Distribution Company Ltd "according to the statement. 

The centralized allocation (CBD) teams are ready with the necessary tools to undertake restoration work immediately. Regular construction works have stopped temporarily and all labor has been diverted into works of restoration proposals said.

Material needed, such as transformers, poles, conductors, insulators and tower spare parts have remained ready so they can be moved to the affected areas at short notice.
