Hyderabad: ambitious network project Water Telangana state government, the provision of protected drinking water to all households, will have longest pipeline in the world. The 1,26,036 kilometers of pipe line will be three times longer than the circumference of the earth, which is about 40,000 miles. While the survey for the ambitious project will cost the exchequer around Rs 317 million rupees, the whole project will cost around Rs 27,000 crore, according to preliminary estimates. 

Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday a high-level government would ensure substantial funds in the budget to accelerate the process and complete the scheme within the stipulated period. Mr. Rao inspected the available water sources, streams and other water bodies in Google Earth. "This scheme will create a mega water world record. It will have 1,26,036 km of pipeline.'s Water pipeline network Telangana will be three times longer than the circumference of the earth," the Prime Minister said at the meeting. 

Mr. Rao, who held a meeting with ministers marathon (IT and panchayat raj, irrigation and water supply in rural areas) and officials of the CMO, is contemplating to launch the project in October in Nalgonda district Fluoride- hit. The water project 24 protected water systems in the state extends for a period of five years. 

"The idea is to ensure safe drinking water to all households and provide at least 70 liters of water per person," said Minister of Informatics and panchayat raj KT Rama Rao. The Government has also decided to hand over the works for the rural water supply department to seek help from experts in the field and network organizations.
