New Delhi: Smoking in public can make a person a fine of 20,000 rupees as suggested by the panel of experts set up by the Ministry of Health on the control of snuff.
The panel has also suggested raising the age limit for consumption and banning the sale of cigarettes. Final recommendations have not yet developed.
There were also suggestions to increase the fine of 5,000 rupees to 50,000 rupees now, manufacturers not bearing signs of pictorial warning on cigarette packs.
