A 16-month-old died after being forgotten by a parent who left the child behind in a car park company, a Swiss prosecutor said Friday.
The baby was left for several hours after the father "went to work, forgetting to leave the baby in the nursery usual," said prosecutor Marc Remy Neuchatel in a statement.
"It was not until the end of the work day when they went to pick up their children, they realized the tragedy that had happened," he said.
The accident occurred in the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the west of the country.
A criminal investigation has been opened, but the prosecutor said he will not release details of the case.
