Deputy CLP leader in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Tuesday alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was cheating nearly 10 lakh beedi workers by going back on his promise of giving them pensions.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, shabbir ali said that KCR has promised pension for beedi workers during the election campaign. The same promise was included in the TRS manifesto. He said Nizamabad has the highest number of 3.5 lakh beedi workers, followed by Warangal, Karimnagar and Adilabad. However, he said that there is no clarity on the implementation of this promise although he raised the issue in Telangana council twice.
shabbir ali said that the TRS Government needs to clarify whether the pension by the State Government will be separate from the existing pension of Rs 1,000 being given by the Centre. He also ridiculed the promises of KCR of turning Telangana State into China.
