Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Como forks into two States on June 2, Apollo Hospitals sees a big opportunity in the health sector in the residual state comprising 13 districts.
The hospital group would have three new hospitals with a total of 800 beds. The group, which has 50 hospitals, has a total capacity of 8,617 beds, 31 Mar 2014.
"We see a great opportunity there and we have prepared four large hospitals there this financial year. Let's set one up along the road-Vijayawada Guntur. Also we will set up our second unit in Visakhapatnam and one in Nellore," Sangita Reddy , Executive Director (Operations) of Apollo Hospitals Group, told Business Line. Vijayawada Guntur area-is one of the best options for the future capital of Seemandhra.
"This is part of the goal of 10,000 bed we set ourselves," he said.
While the unit will have 250 beds Visakhapatnam, Nellore unit will have 200 beds. Which is provided in Vijayawada also have about 350 beds. "Each bed would require an investment of Rs.50-80 lakh," he said.
This would translate into an investment of Rs. 400-640 crore.
