Famous Bengali actress Suchitra Sen (82) passed away. She was suffering from a lung disease (Chronical obstructive pulmonary disorder). She has been receiving medical help in Belle Vue Hospital, Calcutta. Her health further deteriorated from the 3rd of January and she was shifted into the CCU. She was supported by a ventilator from then on. Her daughter Munmun Sen, grand daughters Riya and Rima took care of her in the hospital.
Suchitra Sen started her career in the year 1952 with the movie ‘Shesh Kothai’. She received a Dada Saheb Phalke award in the year 2005. She reigned the Calcutta movie world with her beauty and talent, she also received a Padma Shri award in the year 1972.
She stopped acting in the year 1970 and has been away from the fans since then. She acted in the famous hindi movies like Bombay ka Baboo, Mamatha, Devdas, Aandhi and also the Bengali version of Devdas and got accolades from critics and people. She acted in a movie named Pranay Bhasha for the last time in 1978.
