Evergreen beauty of Bollywood Rekha has clothed the character of Madhubala from "Mughal-e-Azam" for a song sequence in his upcoming movie "Super Nani" which also repeat the magic of Bollywood tracks ageless.
Taking styling cues from the iconic actresses like Madhubala and Waheeda, Rekha dances to the rhythm of several songs, including "Pyaar Kiya toh Darna Kya", all woven into a song especially for the film.
"In the song, Rekha will be dancing to some old classic iconic dresses actresses like Madhubala, Waheeda Rahmaan of his famous films like 'Mughal-e-Azam' and 'Howrah Bridge' as part of history, 'a source close to the film unit said.
Rekha was initially reluctant to do the song, which is choreographed by Shabina Khan. But she is said to have given approval after much persuasion by the unit of the film, including director Indra Kumar.
"As we approached Rekhaji with the concept, initially he was reluctant to portray a cult as respected figure Madhubala screen. But he said his inimitable talent will really justify the scene and recreation of the iconic song by one of the most famous actresses, "Kumar said in a statement.
"Super Nani", co-produced by Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria, deals with women's empowerment. With actors Sharman Joshi, Shweta Kumar, Randhir Kapoor and Anupam Kher, the film will hit the screens on October 24.
