Mahesh Babu Aagadu coined record collections on the first day at the box office Tollywood. Commercial reports say the action drama has grossed around 15 cr on the first day (which includes first class entertainment). Aagadu has collected 9.23 cr in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana although coined US $ 915 k of first class entertainment (almost 5 cr) 

The film was the second best opening for Telugu films in 2014 after Pawan Kalyan Attarintiki Daaredi. Sreenu Vaitla has directed Aagadu with Tamanna as the female lead and planned to repeat the success with SS Thaman Dookudu combo.
