Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh government plans to increase market prices set by the land in and around Vijayawada soon. A committee set up by the Department of Revenue is examining this issue and the decision to revise the rates will be taken within two months.
"After the commission presents its report, we will take a decision on this," said Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy, holding portfolios of revenue, stamps and registration.
Stating that 32,872 acres of government land is available within 10 kilometers of the district headquarters in the state, said more than 3,247 hectares in Krishna and 2,012 acres of government land in the districts of Guntur are available within 10 miles of the district headquarters. The government will also focus on a comprehensive study of all categories of land in the state.
On the question of the location of the state capital, he dropped enough hints that the new capital is likely to develop into Kanchikacherla, Gannavaram, Ibrahimpatnam and Gottumukkala.
Although the Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu himself has not announced the exact location of the new capital, Mr. Krishnamurthy jumped the gun that gives information on the location. Sources said Naidu plans to locate the administrative buildings of the capital in these four places.
For inquiries, he said that land prices have not gone near Guntur, while have soared particularly near Vijayawada Gannavaram, Kanchikacherla, Ibrahimpatnam Gottumukkala and after the announcement of the state government that the new capital would be located near Vijayawada. The increased rates of land in these places the location of the new capital is clearly indicated, he said.
