After the deep depression in the northern Andaman Sea intensified into a cyclonic storm on Wednesday, the Government of Odisha sounded high alert across the state and the administrative machinery is prepared to deal with the storm.

Food supplies and the department of consumer welfare has been asked to take unscrupulous traders who indulged in grabbing task. No less than 340 cyclone shelters were maintained in the retention of the provision in the minds of the advancing storm. 

Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Bijoyshree Routray and GC Pati Chief Secretary were present at the meeting. Meanwhile, are being mobilized 12 units of the National Disaster Response Force from different parts of the coast.
