Superstar Rajinikanth Tamil action film starring 'Lingaa' was passed with a certificate of "U" by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which is suitable for all age groups.

The film opens in theaters on December 12 in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.

"'Lingaa' will be released in Rajinikanth's birthday. The censors have been certified as" U "," film director KS Ravi Kumar said in a statement.

According to producer Rockline Venkatesh, the film is likely to release in over 2,000 screens worldwide.

Also starring Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty, brands 'Lingaa' third collaboration with Ravi Kumar after Rajinikanth 'Muthu' and 'Padayappa'.

Rajinikanth is playing a double role in the film, which has music by AR Rahman.
