Superstar Salman Khan starring "Kick", which was released in many cities in Poland last week, is doing a good business.
The film was released with Polish sub-titles and this helped the Poles, particularly the young, to enjoy Bollywood masala fare thoroughly. The movie is playing in Warsaw, Cracow, Lublin, Poznan and many major Polish cities.
"The response is very encouraging and the speaker is very happy," said JJ Singh, president of the Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IPCCI) actively participated in the filming of "Kick".
The climax of this film was completed in Warsaw in April this year, when Salman could not get a British visa to roll in London. British authorities refused a visa as Salman is facing charges in a court of Mumbai.
This forced producer and director Sajid Nadiadwala to select locations for Warsaw daredevil action scenes. A Polish company Polska Film had joined hands with Nadiadwala to finish the shoot quickly. It was just a two-week schedule.
Poles are obviously very excited to see the action scenes.
"It's great to see our favorite Indian actor do amazing scenes stunts if he was jumping from the tallest building in Warsaw, Palace of Culture or a bus was thrown from a bridge over the Vistula River," said Daria Dulok a young Polish is doing his PhD in the culture of Bollywood.
It was the first time that a unit of Indian cinema Warsaw had selected. Earlier in the winter of 2006, Aamir Khan, Kajol and Suniel Shetty had come to film the climax of "Fanna" in the Tatra Mountains.
According to J.J. Singh, Ajay Devgn selected Krakow for his next film and he is going to spend ten to fifteen weeks of filming in April and June next year. Devgn had come to Poland in September to finalize the paperwork and signed a contract with film Krakow Polska to offer its entire logistics unit.
"It's really encouraging that finally Poland has become a destination for Bollywood actors and producers. This year, in July and August, Riteish Deshmukh had brought his unit to shoot 'Bangistaan' in Krakow, which is the most beautiful area Poland.
"We have qualified technicians and support staff is very professional. A director of Polish photography Artur Zurawski did a commendable job when he fired Rani Mukherji 'Mardani'" said Janusz Krzyżowski, president of the Warsaw branch of the Polish-India Cultural committee.
