President Pranab Mukherjee is believed to have decided not to entertain any request from Andhra Pradesh government seeking extension of time for the Assembly to debate on the draft Telangana bill. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and his supporters are planning to seek extension of the January 23 deadline to return the draft bill along with the views of the Assembly. This is seen as part of a plan to delay the bifurcation process. However, highly placed sources in New Delhi ruled out the possibility of extension of time for the Assembly to debate on the AP Reorganisation Bill, 2013. “The President has given six weeks’ time for the Assembly to express its views on the bill and return it by January 23.As per a congress Telangana spokes person "Special session of Parliament in Feb to pass bill; Cong to launch publicity blitzkrieg to claim credit".
