New Delhi: In the wake of comments made by the press chief K Chandrasekhar Rao Telangana minister in relation to the media, the Newspaper Society of India said on Thursday he would resist efforts to intimidate or harass their member publications.
"Anyone with a complaint against a publication has legal remedies available for redress. But intimidation and threats to the species are reported by Rao about have no place in a democratic society, even when made by a person occupying a high position.
"The Company would resist with all means at its disposal any effort to intimidate or harass member publications," the said in a statement Thursday.
