While 115 MSOs (MSO) have been granted permanent license as September 3, Digicable 

Network Cables and Kal are among the prominent MSOs whose licenses have been canceled in the event of denial of security 

clearance by the Ministry of the Interior. 

However, the Madras High Court has quashed the cancellation of the provisional license Kal Cables, based on the 

Information and Broadcasting Ministry had not issued any show-cause notice before canceling the permit. The court also 

said the MSO should be given another opportunity to respond. Kalanidhi Maran-owned Kal El Cables had opposed the 20

clear the doubts. 

The MSO was given a permanent license to operate in Chennai, in June 2012, while a provisional license was given to 

I operate in areas DAS reported in phase II cities in March 2013. 

The Red Digicable India license was canceled on September 3 because of the denial of security clearance of the House 

Ministry. The MSO was applied on 11 May 2012 by DAS notified area of NCT of Delhi, Mumbai Municipal Council 

and Calcutta in phase I and 28 January and 6 March last year by 38 cities of Phase II.
