BJP senior leader and Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreyya on Saturday assured that he would make representations with the Central Government to get adequate funds to make the railways network safe for the people of Telangana.

Speaking to media persons after visiting the injured children at Yashoda Hospital here, Dattatreyya asked the South Central Railway authorities to prepare estimates for the elimination of Unmanned Railway Level Crossings in its region. He said there are 614 URLCs which should be removed. He said he would represent the issue with the Central leadership to get required funds.

Dattareyya also asked the State Government to take measure to make the school buses safer for children. He said all bus drivers should be sensitised on making the journey safer for school children. He said advised both the State Government and Railway authorities not to resort to blame game. He also assured that the Centre would increase the ex-gratia amount and Rs 2 lakh amount was only interim grant.

The BJP leader also demanded that stern action against the erring officials who negligence led to the accident.
