Mother Ace director VV Vinayak has been seriously ill and this is said to be real reason behind the delay in the debut project Akhil Akkineni. A highly placed source in the know disclosed, "director Vinayak's mother is sick. He has a lot of attachment to his mother. Therefore, is currently taking care of her." However, the sources refused to reveal the cause of ill health. Nagarjuna also reportedly not in a mood to annoy Vinayak now.

Vinayak had already lost his father four years ago and is now putting all the stops for its recovery. It was assumed that Akhil's debut film to be directed by Vinayak will be launched in Novemeber, but with some sudden and unexpected, that have delayed the film muhurat December.
