Telangana Government has drawn up plans to spend Rs 500 million rupees in preparations for Godavari Pushkaralu to be held from July 14 to 25 years later. Sringeri Sharada Peetham Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Bharati Swamy thirtha be kicking off this holy feast of Basar in Adilabad district.
Government expects a crowd three crore people take holy dip in five districts through which the river passes in Telangana Godavari State. Pushkaralu Godavari Cabinet subcommittee met under the chairmanship of the Minister Endowments Indrakaran Reddy at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
The Group of Ministers consisting of T Rajaiah, Tummala Nageshwara Rao, T Harish Rao and Jogu Ramanna decided to make similar arrangements to Kumbh Mela. Besides climbing facilities in Basar, Bhadrachalam, Dharampuri, Kaleshwaram and Ramagundam to meet the big race of the pilgrims, the government decided to increase the number of Pushkar Ghats to 80 in several districts with a budget of Rs 70 million rupees.
Also Rs 266 million rupees will be used to decorate 37 roads connecting ghats for the convenience of travelers. Similarly, the Department of Panchayat Raj will Rs 61 million rupees for laying and repair of 105 roads within its boundaries. Nearly 13.5 million rupees allocated to the provision of potable water, and sanitation facilities.
The subcommittee Cabinet has decided to meet again in two weeks to review medical preparations and stores electricity for Pushkaralu. Meanwhile, the government intends to invite the chief ministers and governors of different states to visit Telangana during Pushkaralu.
