Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas here on Monday announced that the foundation stone for the construction of an India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will begin in January 2015 in Mangalagiri.
He made this announcement after talks with Health Minister JP Nadda Union in New Delhi.
Kamineni Srinivas also said that the government of Andhra Pradesh has so far allocated 190 acres of land for the purpose, adding that the forest department is also willing to allocate five hectares of forest land.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Nadda said the funds for the project would be released after a central survey team submits a report on the subject.
