The Rajya Sabha Wednesday protesting the renaming of the airport in Hyderabad while the government said the International Airport remains the name of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
"Both NT Rama Rao and Rajiv Gandhi are respected leaders ... Hyderabad International Airport remains the name of Rajiv Gandhi," said Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
"Domestic airport was originally named after NTR and remains so," he added.
Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju stood to offer an explanation, but he was not allowed to talk to protest Congress. "The name of Rajiv Gandhi has not changed ..." Raju said.
