Deputy CLP leader in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir accused the Andhra Pradesh government to ignore the welfare of minorities in the budget for 2014-15 presented by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu Wednesday. 

Shabbir Ali said that the budget speech was silent on the continuation of 4% per cent Muslim reservation and Urdu language. The subject of Minorities Welfare stated as usual and a modest amount of R 371 million rupees has been allocated the same. He recalled that the previous Congress government has allocated Rs 1,047 crore for minority welfare for the year 2013-14 in the United Andhra Pradesh. Although the fact that the population of minorities in the surviving state lower in comparison with Telangana, however, the budget reduction to a mere R 371 million rupees can not be justified. 

The Congress leader said that the minority population in most of the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh is more than 15 percent. These include Kurnool, Guntūr, Anantapur, Kadap, Chittoor, Prakasam, Nellore and Krishna. However, by allocating a meager amount, TDP government of ignoring their welfare, he said. 

He also asked the government to come out with details Dukon-o-Makaan and Roshin programs announced in the budget speech.
