Communications consultant with the government of Andhra Pradesh, Parakala Prabhakar, said the government signed six memoranda of understanding with the Japanese government and private industrial entities during the four-day trip to Japan.

He said that besides an official delegation of 18 members, 25 to 30 members composed of members of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and similar business delegation accompanying also the official delegation.

The MoU belong to the transfer of know-how in the instruments of agriculture, energy, urban infrastructure, waste management, electronics and the like.

Due to political uncertainty in Japan, the planned meeting with Japanese Prime Minister has not yet been finalized.
The delegation a memorandum of understanding with NEDO has been engaged in research and development of a new, safe and alternative energy development for the past two decades has also signed.

Similarly memoranda of understanding will be signed with Sumitomo Corporation, which would act as an interface for the government of Andhra Pradesh in bringing investment, technology, expertise from Japan and other Asian countries.

As part of this, one MOU was signed in agricultural implements best practices in agriculture to increase yields and expertise.

Another MOU provides for the creation of a power plant coal-based 4,000 MW in Srikakulam. This would include the financing, construction and project development.

Another MOU focuses on exploring JICA investments and other financial institutions to finance the food processing industries in the State.

The delegation also visited Osaka, Koyoto, Tokyo and other cities and transportation study, urban management, waste management, energy management, etc.

The idea is to take the leveraged investment of $ 30 billion that was announced by Japan to India, during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to that country, said Prabhakar.
