Chennai: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Thursday moved the Supreme Court seeking bail in the case of disproportionate assets. AIADMK chief denied bail in case Rs 66.65 million rupees by the Karnataka High Court earlier this week.
The 66-year-old has been in jail since he was convicted in the case by a Bangalore court on September 27 She, along with his key aide Sasikala and two others were sent to four years in prison.
While Jayalalithaa was asked to pay Rs 100 crore as punishment, Sasikala and others were fined Rs 10 crore each.
