Anantapur: With opposition parties decided not to protest during the Gandhi Jayanti, the first day of Janmabhoomi program Vooru Mana marched peacefully in all parts of the district on Thursday.
Movie star Nandamuri Balakrishna and Hindupur MLA participated in the Janmabhoomi program and launched Hindupur NTR Sujala RO plants for purified water. About nine plants, five in the town of Hindupur Hindupur and two rural and one each in Lepakshi mandal headquarters and Chilamathur Hindupur constituency in face acute shortage of drinking water.
In Hindupur, water supply project has been given to Mitra, an NGO based in Karnataka to supply purified water to the people of Hindupur area. The MLA had marked out a rally in Hindupur as part of the programs.
Civil Supplies Minister and Minister Paritala Sunitha Palle Raghunath Reddy IT participated in the rally at Gandhi circle bus stand Tadipatri in Anantapur. The rally was taken towards Saptagiri circle.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Raghunath Reddy made it clear that the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has committed to implement all the promises contained in the manifest. He appealed to opposition parties to cooperate with the authorities to ensure that the program went smoothly.
"The NTR Sujala supplies drinking water to people in all parts of the district," Mr. Reddy said and added that the government planned to complete project Handri Neeva Sujala Shravanthi in a span of a year to irrigate lakh hectares in the region .
Paritala Sunitha Minister recalled that Chandrababu Naidu had Mr. launched its Padayatra Gandhi Jayanti day and committed to implement all his pro-mises though the government was in financial trouble.
Palle Reddy Raghuath Sujala scheme launched Buddappa Nagar municipal corporation in Anantapur. The minister also participated in cleaning drains and sweeping roads on the occasion.
Collector Solomen Arogyaraj, joint charge S.Satyanarayana, Anantapur MLA V.Prabhakar Chowdary, other Swaroopa andseveral Mayor participated in the program.
