Hyderabad: Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister Anil Swaroop, along with Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma Telangana on Monday revised the Hyderabad Metro Rail works with other senior officials.
During the meeting, Swaroop reportedly directed officials to remove encroachments on roads where Metro Rail works are going on. Sources say that the theme of change in the design of Metro Rail was not included in the discussions on Monday. Following objections raised by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the existing design is feared damage to the structure of assets, the HMRL authorities had written a letter to Prime Minister seeking clarification. However, HMRL received no response from the CMO. Therefore, the theme of change in the design of Metro Rail not come up for discussion.
According to sources, Anil Swaroop took strong note of the absence of the Director of L & T Metro Rail Manager VN Gadgil in the review meeting.
HMR MD NVS Reddy, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, Cyberabad Commissioner CV Anand and other senior officials attended the meeting.
