Guntur: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said he wants the state to be a "digital AP".
"Our prime minister Modi's ambition is to make the country a" digital in India. Now I'm thinking to transform Andhra Pradesh into 'digital AP' before other states, "he said.
To achieve this vision, we are looking to provide service 'Wi-Fi' in all educational institutions of the state, Naidu said when addressing teachers and students here at the 'Gurupuja Utsav' on Friday.
The Prime Minister said he also plans to offer i-pads to all students so that they develop an awareness of Information Technology and also to reduce the burden of textbooks.
"The teaching of the new technology at an early age brings good results, instead of training at an older age," he said.
"Young scientists and technocrats of the state are now leading the world in information technology and we are proud of them," he said, adding that he has realized the importance of education, along with the expertise and above all the information for students.
The state government has proposed the creation of the highest as well as the Union government wants to establish more institutions like IIT and IIM educational institutions. After they are created, the services of the best teachers in an institution would be used for students from other schools via video, said.
He also appealed to the teaching community to strive to achieve 100 percent literacy in the state in the next five years.
We are away at number 31 in the illiteracy rate in the country among other states, but also in the technology of our state is ahead, Naidu said.
Previous governments failed to identify the importance of education and socioeconomic status were left behind in achieving a higher rate of literacy development, he lamented.
On occasion, 175 teachers awarded best in the state were awarded and congratulated two teachers who had taught him during his academic years.
