Hyderabad: Telangana state government is keen to strengthen laws to ensure the safety and security of girls and women. A high-level committee headed by the principal secretary of government (Department of Agriculture and Cooperation) Poonam Malakondaiah, met on Wednesday and discussed the issue. 

She said that the main objective is to review the existing laws, to further strengthen the laws if necessary, to ensure speedy justice to victims and ensure that victims come forward to lodge complaints without fear. "
