HYDERABAD: The government Chandrababu Naidu has drawn up ambitious plans to transform Andhra Pradesh in a "lively" and place in the top three states in the country in 2022.

Development of 14 major and minor ports, rivaling Singapore's waterfront, three international airports and 14 domestic airports, three 'mega cities' and 11 'smart cities' and 28 Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are first on the agenda AP government to make an "air and maritime center" and boost economic development.

Creation of waterways in the state and a national channel that connects the coastal city of Kakinada to Puducherry is also on the anvil.

Add the five "grids" and seven "missions" seem massive plans for a state that is trying to rebuild after the bifurcation.

The five networks provided by the government are water, energy, roads, gas and fiber optics. The primary sector includes seven missions, social empowerment, skill and knowledge development, urban development, industry and infrastructure sector.

These missions have specific targets to drive growth plans envisaged by the government, create jobs and help alleviate poverty.

"A society without poverty, a state that is a center of technology. And a happy population confidence in a bright future. That's my last vision of Andhra Pradesh," says Naidu.

I'll make sure we create the entire ecosystem and development of each city into a center of growth and eventually transform Andhra Pradesh into an animated state, "he promises, adding that convert current adversities (caused by the division of state) opportunities -round all progress.

However, everything remains only on paper as of now, no firm estimates of the time required in the projects could be completed or finance.

The biggest factor that can make or mar these great projects is the availability of funds, as the state remains in bankruptcy. The state government is betting heavily, if not exclusively, at the Centre to fund major projects such as ports, airports and road networks, in addition to smart cities.

Our assistance will be free state project-specific and no concessions, "said Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Union during his recent trip to the state, but the government wants Naidu Centre to meet" commitments "made in the Act-2014 AP Reorganization and extend all financial aid to the truncated state.

"The prime minister Narendra Modi said he would do" justice "for the state," the Prime Minister had announced after a recent meeting with him.
