Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Transport Department has banned taxi services based on the web that do not have a valid license.

In a statement released Thursday, Transport Commissioner G. Anantha Ramu told AP that according to the advice issued by the Home Office, addressed to ensure that such operations and public services also stop advised not to hire any transportation services provided by the web based businesses that are not authorized by the state government.

"Instructed officials in all districts were taken to ensure no services operating in their districts. They are also addressed to periodically check against various taxi services operating in your area to see if they are violating the rules" said.
