Over 50 percent voter turnout was recorded till 3 pm on Saturday during the bypolls in Medak Lok Sabha constituency seat assembly Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Nandigama.
Except for minor incidents, voting was peaceful, officials of the election commission said.
The vote was prompt in Medak, where 54 percent polling was recorded until 15:00
Nandigama also witnessed high turnout, with 58 percent voters cast their vote until 15:00
Election officials said polling began in both constituencies at 7 am on a dull note but picked up as the day progressed. Voters may vote until 18:00
Electronic voting machines (EVM) developed problems in places, resulting in a delay in the start of the voting process. Officials later replaced the faulty EVM.
Tight security arrangements were made. Officials in Hyderabad supervised voting via webcasting.
Workers Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader (TRS) and the Congress of the opposition faced Kothapet in Medak district. Police used force to disperse the shock groups.

Heavy polling was witnessed in Nandigama assembly constituency in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.
Over 1.84 lakh voters were eligible to vote in 200 polling stations.
Four candidates are in contention in Nandigama a seat reserved for Scheduled Castes. Telugu Desam Party leader (TDP) has sent Tangirala Soumya, daughter Tangirala Prabhakar Rao, whose death caused the vacancy.
Soumya is locked in a direct fight against B. Babu Rao of the Congress. The other two candidates are independent.
