Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday decided to review the decision of Telangana state government to increase tariff structure of management quota seats in minority and non-minority private medical schools not funded for the academic year 2014-15 . 

A division bench comprising Justice R. Subhash Reddy and Justice A. Shankar Narayana was admitting public interest litigation (PIL) by the Joint Action Committee Telangana Students represented by its president Mr. Balaraju. The PIL challenged the GO MS numbers 9 and 10, the fee structure for management quota seats C1-Rs 5.5 lakh category of Rs 9 lakh in institutions amending non-minorities and B1-category seats minority institutions of Rs 6 lakh rupees nine lakh. 

The petitioner stated that the government's decision will hamper the chances of meritorious students. Noting that the decision appears to be contrary to the instructions of the Supreme Court regarding admission to private medical schools; Justice Subhash Reddy said the court would examine the matter. The bank issued notices to all the respondents, including the government of Telangana, directing them to file counter affidavits. 

HC stays case against Justice Varma Raja Elango of the High Court granted stay Hyderabad on Wednesday in a case against film director and producer Ramgopal Varma in Saroornagar police station of the city for two weeks. The police had registered the case against Varma on a complaint by Karuna Sagar, an advocate for making controversial comments about Lord Ganesha.
