Hyderabad: four MLAs of Congress opposed the change in the alignment of the Metro Rail line in the section Assembly Lakdikapul. They said that the line will not damage the Gunpark Memorial or 100 years old buildings of the Assembly.
Lawmakers on Friday reached Gunpark monument and began to take action through the road near the building where Akashavani already established the pillars.
Speaking to the media said existing pillars were 150 feet from memorial Gunpark and 400 feet from the buildings of the Assembly and the Metro Rail section between. Control Room Ravindra Bharati Akashvani Viejo Lakdikapul not damage the structures as stated by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
"If the alignment is now changed and the metro line is deflected behind the buildings of the Assembly, which will pass close to another historic building, the Jubilee Hall. The change of alignment will increase the burden on the government for a few thousand crore. that money can be spent on new routes for Metro Rail services ", said the Congress MLA Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
The other members of Congress Makam Rangareddy, MS Prabhakar (CLM) and T. Rammohan Reddy had said there seems to be a conspiracy behind CM's statement on possible damage to buildings of the Assembly on account of Metro, without any scientific study or report suggesting the same. It is better that the government attaches to the existing line and allows L & T to continue the work, "they added.
