Former minister Dr p shankar rao on Saturday condemned the comments made by Natwar Singh against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her family.

Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises here, Shankar Raoi alleged that Natwar Singh was making ground to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said Natwar Singh's son is already a BJP MLA and he too will join the party soon. Stating that it was the Congress party which gave an identity to Natwar Singh, he condemned the way former union minister has been targeting the Congress leadership.

Shankar Rao claimed that it was Sonia Gandhi herself who rejected the post of Prime Minister and Dr Manmohan Singh was selected for the post due to his capabilities. He said former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was praised by 108 countries for his expertise in handling financial crisis. He asked Natwar Singh to restrain from criticising the Nehru-Gandhi family in order to gain publicity for his book.
