The DMDK founder said he had made the contribution of personal funds towards the National Relief Fund of the Prime Minister. 

Desiya Dravidar Kazhagam founder Vijayakanth Murpokku Wednesday announced a sum of Rs 10 lakh to the relief efforts in the flood-affected Jammu and Kashmir. 

The NDA constituent said the unprecedented rains in the past 60 years has severely affected people, creating fears about their livelihoods. 

Mr Vijayakanth said he had made the contribution of personal funds towards the National Relief Fund of the Prime Minister. 

In a statement, also appealed to the rich, traders, youth and all like-minded people to help in this hour of crisis.
