Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, who is in Nepal to promote child nutrition, has been appointed Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF for the region of South Asia. 

UNICEF Regional Director for South Asia, Karin Hulshof, announced the 49-year-old actor as the Goodwill Ambassador during a program in the capital today. 

Aamir visited a health post in Pakadi Village in Kapilvastu district yesterday for promoting nutrition for children, where he interacted with workers and local health volunteers. 
"Not only women, each member of the family must be united in their efforts to combat malnutrition. Can not be free of the problems of malnutrition if we are not united," said Aamir Khan. 

Aamir Khan arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday to participate in the nutrition program of UNICEF in Kapilvastu. 

After attending UNICEF programs in Kapilvastu Aamir Khan also visited Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha on Wednesday. 

The star of 'Dhoom 3' also met with Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at his residence and discussed Baluwatar malnutrition, which spread worldwide. The actor also expressed his desire to visit Nepal in the near future with his family. His three-day trip to Nepal ended Thursday (October 9)
