Mumbai: Industrial Mukesh Ambani, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and religious leader Dada JP Vaswani are among a galaxy of personalities nominated for Global Priyadarshni Academy Awards, an official said Wednesday.
Ambani has been selected for the Memorial Award for Business Leadership Harish Mahindra, Smita Patil Memorial Chopra and Vaswani Award for Spiritual Leadership Award.
Other celebrities who will receive the award include Rajshree Birla businesswoman for Contributions Ramakrishna Bajaj Award for CSR CEO Julia Morley Miss World Organization to Save the Children Award, Sir Fazle Hasan Abed of Bangladesh for Poverty Alleviation and Empowerment of the Poor and economist Jeffrey Sachs for his outstanding contribution to sustainable development.
Niranjan Hiranandani NGO President said through awards, Priyadarshni Academy has been paying tribute to filmmakers from around the world that inspire the leaders of current and future generations.
Prizes will be awarded at a ceremony on Friday to be attended by union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Dilip Walse-Patil, former minister Suresh Prabhu binding and others.
The Priyadarshni Academy was founded in 1984 and launched the biennial Global Awards in 1985.
