District Collector G Kishan has directed officials to make elaborate arrangements for subsequent Godavari Pushkaralu on the banks of Godavari river in the district with a focus on cleanliness.
The event is held once every 12 years to take place between 14 and 25 July 2015. Three enlisted Pushkar Ghats on the banks of Godavari in Ramannagudem and Mallakatta in Eturunagaram Mandal and Mandal Mangapet Mallur in the district for the purpose, said the Collector.
He chaired a meeting with district officials Thursday to review the preparations for Godavari Pushkaralu.
He has directed Sudhir Executive Engineer Irrigation Department to build a 100 meter Pushkar Ghat in Mallakatta.
The collector also directed all district heads of the departments concerned to submit cost estimates as soon as possible to arrange for Pushkaralu. "Panchayat Raj, roads and buildings, Tourism, RWS, Medicine and Health, Income, Information and Public Relations, Police and Firefighters should it work in coordination with the preparations," he added. Collector Kishan bathing ghats wanted to be in place with the mechanism of adequate sanitation.
"Medical Camps should be conducted in all the three ghats of Pushkar for 12 days.
Construction of sheds for devotees in the temple of Mallur be completed quickly, "he stated.
BT roads would be fired covering a stretch between Eturunagaram and Ramanangudem; and Kamalapur and Ramnagar. With ample parking space, barricades and installing cameras CCTV would be done by roads and buildings of the Department.
He directed the superintendent Mohan TSTransco to take steps to ensure uninterrupted power in Pushkar Ghats. A district committee comprises 18 staff members and District Collector as its president was formed to oversee the arrangements.
Collector Set Pausumi Basu, Karan Surendra DRO, Information and Public Relations Department Deputy Balagangadhar Tilak and others were present.
